Lovin' On the Body
Do you take the time to savor the way soap feels running across your body? Or take deep inhales of the lotion, shea, or coconut oil as you rub it on your skin? As BIPOC/QTIBIPOC folx societies restrictive labels of normalcy have alienated some of us from our bodies and cleaning and caring for ourselves has been more of a chore than a sacred and beautiful celebration of our fleshly homes. In this workshop we will incorporate individual and group processing to reflect on the narratives we hold about caring for our bodies, reclaim ancestral ways of easing aches and pain, and finish with a guided self-foot-massage. Feel free to bring your butters, lotions, or oils for self-massage portions. Screens will be off for the massage, so feel free to get as cozy…
