About the event

The Well Virtual Retreat Center Presents

Herbalism and Jewish Tradition - Herbalism has a rich history within Jewish traditions, serving medicinal, spiritual and magical purposes. During this workshop, we will explore a diverse array of herbs that have played significant roles in Jewish communities across the diaspora. We will explore the cultural context behind each herb and their respective medicinal properties, all while understanding their enduring relevance to this day. We will also have the opportunity to engage in communal sharing, by learning from each other about the plants and herbs that hold cultural and medicinal significance within our own communities. Lastly, we will engage in a guided herbal medicine making process, by creating our own herbal tinctures and amulets. These creations serve as vessels of healing, protection, and possibility, rooted in ancient practices cherished by our ancestors. People of all backgrounds and belief systems are welcome to attend, regardless of affiliation to Judaism.
