About the event

Fill Your Cup: A Wellness Journaling Workshop Series

Journaling is a powerful tool for mindfulness and creativity that can be used to support your mental/spiritual wellness, self-empowerment, and personal transformation. The “Fill Your Cup” workshop is a space to develop rituals for reflection, self-care, and spiritual hygiene. In this 3-part series, Black will offer tools and support for building a wellness practice through 3 major techniques: everyday journaling, creative journaling, and divination journaling. Part 1: Everyday Journaling - Explores journaling for your morning and evening self-care rituals. This workshop will provide various prompts and guidance for cultivating a simple everyday mindfulness practice through journaling. Part 2: Creative Journaling - Explores ways to build and maintain a journaling practice through combined creative expression. This workshop will invite you into the creative process and encourage you with tools and exercises for living a creative life that promotes holistic wellness. Part 2: Divination Journaling - Explores ways to welcome the Divine into our journaling. This workshop will support you with building an ongoing relationship with divination practice through journaling in order to cultivate intuition, self-awareness, and spiritual connection.

Practitioner Bio: Black (they/them) is a renaissance, drawing inspiration from artists like Josephine Baker and Ntozake Shange, who were unapologetic and unbound in their creative expression. They are a Black, genderqueer creator and community organizer currently based in the land of Bulbancha, or so-called New Orleans. Through anti/interdisciplinary creative practice, Black transcends the boundaries between art and form to create space for healing, discovery, and transformation. They create within the realm of Afrofuturism and spirituality, conjuring worlds through the imagination, facilitating deep connection, and cultivating a sense of collectivity, wholeness, and embodied wisdom. It is through this work that Black strives toward liberation.
