About the event

Activating Abundance is a workshop series that invites our Community of Practice to explore resource conjuring as a practice of collective care. All too often we shy away from conversations about money, resources, and how we can collectively build a new world. It can feel sticky, like a never ending puzzle to unpack the relationship to beliefs rooted in scarcity and create new possibilities for ourselves and our communities. This workshop series offers you an opportunity to boldly face what may be blocking you from unlocking your abundance and create community while doing it! Your active engagement in this space will create an opportunity for you to:

  • explore your relationship to resources (especially money, land, people),
  • learn about collective economic strategies, and
  • highlight ways we practice care through collective resourcing.

How do I know if this is the right space for me? This space is open to anyone in our community of practice looking to reimagine their relationship to resources. While our framework will be in addressing those impacted by the wealth gap (i.e. BIPOC, Queer and Trans* communities) we welcome those who have generational wealth to join us as accomplices and learners. [ We recommend the City of Seattle as a case study for deepening understanding of generational wealth and the economic disenfranchisement of BIPOC communities.]

Your hosts for Activating Abundance

  • Acorn Center for Restoration and Freedom is a sanctuary for Black Diasporic Wisdom to be shared in healing, arts, spiritual, and land justice spaces. For the past 7 years Acorn Center has had a commitment to practicing liberated (and sometimes even radical) collective economic strategies to create more sustainability for BIPOC, Queer and Trans* communities. Our wins have included partnering with over 150 practitioners, healers, facilitators, and leaders; the success of our Giving Circle driven Mutual Aid Fund; and creating opportunities for innovation
  • Economic Justice League (EJL) is a project-based, research, facilitation and design collective for Community Wealth Builders with a focus on sustainability within and across hyper-local ecosystems. In support of organizational and project-based offerings, EJL cultivates a global network of Community Wealth Building practitioners including facilitators, coaches, educators, and organizational designers.
