About the event

There is a lot to be scared about right now – we have a pandemic raging, rampant white supremacy, economic struggles, and a lot of general chaos. Even if we could see some of this coming, the current situation is bringing up a lot of fear, anxiety and anger.

Emotions are powerful things – they can immobilize us. We sometimes take them out on our loved ones or cause us to make bad decisions. All too often, especially for Black folks, we’ve learned to stuff our emotions down and keep keeping on, at the cost of our physical and mental health.

Come to this workshop and learn some specific tools and practices to build resilience. These practices come out of a number of spiritual traditions and are more recently validated by scientific research. These practices build resilience, and can help us experience emotions safely, regulate our nervous systems, and allow us to be more open to experience joy.
